I have spoken with countless couples who have enthusiastically undertaken the wedding planning process themselves, only to realise halfway through the process that it is far more time consuming than they originally anticipated. What is meant to be an enjoyable time, ultimately becomes stressful and demanding. Wedding planning is a full time job and couples often underestimate the amount of time and planning that goes into making sure everything runs according to plan and is seamless on the day.
Our aim is to get to know you as a couple, during our initial meeting it is important to decide whether we are the right fit for you and vice versa. We usually work closely with our couples for up to a year and a close relationship is formed. It is sometimes helpful having a professional to step in as a mediator, who helps bring a different perspective. When emotions are running high, we often help diffuse any family tensions and can help couples and their families navigate the difficult decisions involved in the planning process.
Whilst a wedding planner is an investment, we can help you avoid costly mistakes by recommending and booking trustworthy, reliable suppliers who are suited to your design vision and budget. Some of our couples approach us with a clear design vision in mind, whilst others need us to come up with the whole design concept (which we love doing!) Either way, we understand the importance of keeping you informed and updated throughout the planning process. Our job is not to take over but to guide you and take all the stress out of the planning and the day so that the build up to the wedding is just as enjoyable as the day itself.
We create timelines for each of the suppliers and family members involved in the lead up to the wedding and for on the day itself. Liaising with all the suppliers during the planning process (ensuring they have the correct power, production equipment, access details, etc) and overseeing the contracts and insurance.
The last thing you will want to be doing during the wedding itself is overseeing your suppliers, set up, breaking down, implementing the wet weather contingency plan, turning spaces/marquees/rooms around, ensuring that suppliers and guests are where they should be, and dealing with any issues that arise. We will be on site to ensure every step of the day flows seamlessly, so you can relax and enjoy the lead up to the day and embrace the day itself.
It is worth bearing in mind that when a venue has an in-house coordinator or wedding planner, this is not the same as an independent planner. Their job is to make sure that everything to do with the venue facilities runs smoothly. Whilst they are helpful, they do not cover the scope of what an independent planner does.
